Tecnam P2012 Traveller certified by Colombian Civil Aviation Authority
10 July 2025
Tecnam today announced that its P2012 Traveller has received full validation from Aerocivil, Colombia's Civil Aviation Authority. This enables Tecnam and its local partner, Transair Leasing, to officially offer the aircraft to commercial operators across Colombia.
To celebrate, the P2012 Traveller will make its debut at the F-AIR Colombia Airshow in Rionegro, Antioquia, where aviation professionals and the public will have the opportunity to explore the aircraft up close. The event, one of Latin America's most important aviation exhibitions, provides a stage to showcase the P2012's capabilities to Colombian operators and government stakeholders.
With seating for up to 11 passengers, Garmin G1000 NXi avionics, and good performance on short or unimproved runways, the P2012 is suited for Colombia's challenging geography, from remote jungle strips to mountain towns and island runways. Transair Leasing will provide sales, support, and maintenance services for the P2012.
Transair Leasing Inc. is part of Grupo Aries, a family business with a long history in Ecuadorian aviation. The company has represented Textron and is the exclusive representative for Bell Helicopters in Ecuador, and sells helicopters for civil and military service. Transair Leasing also represents Tecnam and the P2012 Traveler in Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.
Transair Leasing's sister company, Aeroinsa, provides charter operation and maintenance services. Aeroinsa offers charter services throughout Ecuador with its Bell 505 helicopter, serving executives and tourists with tailored flights. Additionally, Aeroinsa's hangar at the Guayaquil airport is equipped to perform maintenance on helicopters and airplanes.
