Saab's Digital Tower selected for Vilnius Airport in Lithuania

03 April 2025

Lithuania's Oro Navigacija (ON) has selected Saab to provide its Digital Tower solution for Vilnius Airport, making it the first capital airport to adopt this technology fully. The solution is based on Saab's latest Integrated Digital Tower Suite (I-DTS) architecture and will equip Vilnius Airport with 4K cameras and presentation functionality for air traffic controllers. It also provides a foundation for integrating future technological advancements such as AI-based features and unmanned traffic management (UTM) services.

This system will also enable a centralized approach for multiple airports in the country. The technology will allow ON to share resources and expertise across multiple airports, with potential future integration of Kaunas and Palanga airports into the system.

Oro Navigacija (ON) is a certified European Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) that provides Air Traffic Services (ATS), Communications, Navigation and Surveillance Services, and Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) to aircraft operating in the airspace of the Republic of Lithuania, as well as the areas above the territorial waters and Baltic Sea that comprise the Vilnius Flight Information Region (FIR).
