General

Two-seat training, touring and light commuting aircraft.
Aircraft was also available as a patroller version with larger side windows, a message chute and larger fuel tanks. ICAO type designation is ‘C150’.

History

Original Model 150 was introduced on the market in October 1958. Basically a Cessna 140 equipped with a nosewheel. The Model 150D had a cut-down rear fuselage, rear windows and improved useful load. Model 150D entered the market in 1963 and was superseded by the Model 150E in 1964, which had several minor modifications compared to the 'D'. A total of 686 Model 150D's and 760 Model 150E's were produced. Production of the ‘E’ ended in 1965.


Airframe

wing: High-wing braced monoplane, wing section NACA 2412. All-metal single spar with all-metal skin construction. Frise-type all-metal ailerons and single-slotted manually-operated all-metal flaps.
fuselage: All-metal semi-monocoque structure.
tail: Cantilever monoplane, all-metal structure, trim-tab in port elevator
landing gear: Fixed tricycle type, Cessna 'Land-o-matic' spring-steel main legs, Cleveland single-disc hydraulic, toe-operated brakes on main wheels. Steerable nosewheel on shock-absorbing strut.

- Aircraft can be equipped with a glider-towing hook.


Powerplant

- One Continental O-200-A horizontally-opposed, air-cooled 4-cylinder engine delivering 100 hp (74 kW) at 2750 rpm.
- Engine drives a 2-blade fixed pitch metal propeller.
- Total fuel capacity 98 l (26 USG), 85 l (23 USG) usable; 2 all-metal fuel tanks in wing; Patroller version total capacity 144 l (38 USG), usable capacity 132 l (35 USG).


Systems

- Electrical system: 14V DC standard.
- Vacuum system: standard in commuter version, optional in other versions.


Avionics

Wide choice of radio's including VHF-transceiver, VOR/LOC nav receiver and ADF from Cessna, King or Narco. Cessna Nav-O-Matic 200 single-axis autopilot optional.


Accommodation

Two persons side-by-side in completely enclosed cabin, luggage compartment behind seats, capacity 54 kg (120 lbs). Aircraft can be fitted with 'family seat' in luggage compartment, for 1 or 2 children not exceeding 54 kg (120 lbs) total weight. Heating and ventilation standard.
