Aircraft is predecessor of the PA-38-112 Tomahawk & Tomahawk II (which see). Compared to the Tomahawk it had a 100 hp (74 kW) engine, a conventional low tail and a trailing link landing gear. Only a single prototype was built (N56436, c/n 38-7320001), which first flew in August 1973.
